Environmental Acoustics
We have supported environmental management partners within the frame of medium to large scale environmental acoustics projects. Our solutions portfolio covers all project stages from data acquisition to action planning regarding almost all types of environmental noise and vibration sources such as road, rail, air traffic infrastructures, industrial sites, other professional activities and so on.
We have also supported small environmental noise and vibration impact assessment studies to business customers, as well as, private individuals experiencing sound and vibration annoyance.
We promote the new ‘soundscape approach’ on top of the classic limit values / noise mitigation framework.
Being based in Mediterranean region we are naturally interested in the themes of neighborhood, recreation, night-time noise, as well as, acoustic ecology.
Architectural Acoustics
Regarding building acoustics, we have the experience in collaborating with architects and other built environment designers / engineers and co-assessing sound insulation and vibration isolation related issues in the design stage or as a retrofit. With respect to structural acoustic interventions, we implement our own developed proactive approach solution through innovative quality assurance certification methods, allowing us to monitor and guarantee compliance with design specifications and building regulations.
Depending on the specific use / professional activity and how critical is each space with respect to room acoustics criteria, we have the capability of:
>>> merging in the design ‘both realms’ (i.e. virtual with scale models, manufactured with custom / prototype materials, theoretical specifications with real compliance), and
>>> communicating them in the most comprehensive means and forms such as ante / post-operam auralizations and visualizations.
Being based in a region with historic architectural cultural heritage, we are naturally interested in the themes of ancient acoustics and acoustics of Byzantine Orthodox churches.
Workplace Acoustics
Within the frame of health and safety we undertake assessments of occupational noise and vibration separately or combined. Whether the assessment is based on model calculations, measurements or combination of both, we offer an escalated level of analysis according to requirements, taking into consideration the factors of time, space, specific receivers / sources, work processes and others. According to the findings of the base study assessments we may subsequently pre-assess the effect of noise mitigation and protection measures on the reference indices under focus. The aforementioned workflow may be offered in an acoustic study mode or with the added benefit of a real-time 24/7 acoustic service that continuously monitors and actively manages work tasks maximizing the use of resources while ensuring occupational and environmental acoustics compliance. We are particularly interested in assessing the effects of long-term exposure to sound and vibration to music professionals such as musicians, singers, performers, DJs and others.Product Acoustics
We can support the research and development of new prototype products assessing their acoustic performance, as well as non-acoustic characteristics that are assessed through acoustic methods. According to your discretion we may get further and actively involved in the development process through a range of consultation services depending on the type of each product. At the end of the R&D stage we may consult and undertake the responsibility of product certification according to international standards that require acoustic assessment methods.
For handmade products, as well as, machine manufactured products that are produced with a variable output with respect to quantitative criteria, we may offer our consultation services regarding acoustic quality assurance procedures and / or undertake the performance of QA process.
Lastly, we may extend the product end of life by testing / monitoring and calibrating performance, as well as, consulting on maintenance / repair issues.
Electroacoustics
In all cases where electric signal is involved in the acoustic chain, we may extend our acoustics study to the electroacoustics / audio domain.
